Fall in Philadelphia doesn’t mean the end of the beer gardens that we know and love, it simply means the beginning of a new season for beer gardens — complete with pumpkin carving nights, fall beers, spiced cocktails and heat lamps.
You can extend your outdoor drinking well into the fall at favorite beer gardens like Morgan’s Pier (which hosts a month-long fall festival for the first time ever), Memphis Taproom (which closes with an Oktoberfest celebration on October 10) and a special beer garden event at Franklin Square on October 24.
Even beyond the fall months, a number of the city’s beer gardens stay open all year round (we’re looking at you Frankford Hall and Drury Beer Garden) thanks to a plethora of heat lamps and wintry beers.
